The American College of Greece, remaining faithful to its motto “Not to be served but to serve,” collected supplies for the victims of the recent devastating floods in Thessaly by supporting two major initiatives:
- Pierce East Campus supported the effort of the Ministry of Education, coordinated by the initiative “Oloi Mazi Boroume,” by donating 61 boxes of brand-new school supplies to students in the broader Thessaly region.
- Pierce Gymnasium/Lyceum, Deree, Alba Graduate Business School, and the Deree Athletic Club, through the NGO Desmos, contributed 79 boxes of essential supplies (clothing, cleaning products, hygiene items, canned goods, etc.), as well as more than 2,300 bottles of mineral water and juice.
NGO Desmos not only thanked ACG for the goods donated but mostly for the way they were delivered to them, beautifully sorted by item, showing the true care ACG people put into the whole effort.
“In times of crisis, the true values of solidarity, compassion and community shine brightest. The call for collection of essential items by the members of The American College of Greece for the people in Thessaly shows our commitment to making a positive social impact”, stated Rania Assariotaki, ACG Senior Manager for Sustainability, Office of Public Affairs, who coordinated the effort.
Hearty congratulations to our students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents of ACG, who once more responded to our call in a record time!
Because #ACGCares!
