The American College of Greece (ACG), as a New European Bauhaus partner, participated in the 1st New European Bauhaus Festival in Greece, which run in parallel to the New European Bauhaus Festival in Brussels and was realized at the Ellinikon Experience Park between 9 – 12 June 2022.
Dr. Stella Apostolaki, Executive Director of the Center of Excellence in Sustainability, participated in the panel discussion on ‘Reconstructing Education for Life’, which took place on June 10. Student and Faculty work, relevant to the concept of the New European Bauhaus Initiative was demonstrated at the Festival Fair, June 9-12. The work presented included artwork representing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and sustainability-related topics, a virtual exhibition on tracing environmental issues through art, video games and mobile phone applications, underwater photography albums, and projects on enhancing the sustainable use of public open spaces, redesigning buildings, and more. The ACG booth attracted the attention of hundreds of visitors.
ACG presence at the Festival was facilitated and supported by the Center of Excellence in Sustainability, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences – Department of Science and Mathematics, the Office of Public Affairs, the Office of Admissions and ACG students from the Environmental Studies Society, the Biomedical Sciences Society, the International Honors Program and ACG staff.
