Lecture Description

This informal session will take the form of a Q & A with Dr. Nayr Ibrahim, a renowned figure in the world of English language teaching, who has a specific interest and extensive experience in working with and researching young learners. Participants will be encouraged to engage with Dr. Ibrahim on issues relating to their experiences in teaching their own young learners here in Greece, which could include:

  • how we can prepare our learners for their role in a multi-lingual and multi-cultural Europe and the world
  • going beyond the ‘English’: perceptions of culture and identity in our young language learners
  • how our young Greek learners can engage with literature
  • what we do well for our young Greek learners; what they do well for young language learners in Norway
  • how we can navigate the exams-directed nature of language learning here in Greece
