About the event
ACG welcomes two-time Booker prize-winning author of over 50 books, including The Handmaid’s Tale and its record-breaking sequel, The Testaments, Margaret Atwood, to our inaugural S. Sue Horner Lectureship in Gender Studies & Religion. Atwood, who has been described as the most important living author of our time, is best known for her haunting visions of future dystopias. In her novels, Atwood explores issues related to gender and identity, religion and myth, the power of language and even power politics.
The words twittering world originate from a T.S. Eliot poem, Burnt Norton, part of his Four Quartets work. Atwood will discuss how literature has meaning in this world, with distractions that keep us numb to the deeper meaning of life.
