Commencement Ceremony 2024
We are pleased to announce that the Fifty-eighth Deree – The American College of Greece Commencement will be held in person at the Deree Track and Field – Aghia Paraskevi Campus on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 20:30.
Commencement Rehearsal
There will be one mandatory rehearsal at the Deree Track and Field on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, beginning at 17:30. It is expected to last about three hours and attendance will be taken. Those failing to attend the rehearsal will not be allowed to participate in the Commencement Ceremony. Exceptions will be made only due to extenuating circumstances.
Commencement Ceremony
The ceremony will be held at the Deree Track & Field on Saturday, June 29. The ceremony will start promptly at 20:30. Gates to the campus will open at 18:30.
All participants must arrive by 19:00 dressed with their gowns and caps to allow enough time to register and lineup. At this time, you will also receive your tassels.

After the Commencement Ceremony, a reception will follow at Deree Lawn for graduates and their guests.
Distribution of Academic Regalia
The distribution of academic regalia (cap, gown and collar) will take place at the Pierce Cafeteria on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 09.00 to 16.00 in slots based on seniors’ last name.
Academic regalia must be picked up in person. Please note that you cannot participate in Commencement if your gown is not picked up on this date.
Under extenuating circumstances, a participant may give a written authorization to another person to pick up his/her cap and gown. Please note that the authorization must be notarized or sent directly from your ACG email account. Students who are not in Athens at the designated pick up day and time should authorize another person to pick their regalia.
Dress Regulations
Commencement participants must wear academic regalia:
- Black gowns, ankle length (worn over your clothes)
- White collars for women; white shirts and dark neckties (dark blue, dark grey, or black) for men
- Caps, flat on the head with tassels on the right side
Invitations
All invitations will be in an electronic form via Eventora platform and they will be assigned per graduate. Εach graduate will be given six (6) invitations for their guests and one (1) parking ticket in order to be able to park on a designated area on campus on the day of the Commencement. Attendance at the Commencement Ceremony is by invitation only. Each invitation is valid for one person only.
Guest Seating
Guests will be provided with a seat number via Eventora. The seats will be given out on a first come, first served basis. Visitors may enter the campus at 18:30.
Photographs and Video
We would like to inform you that the College has made arrangements for photographs and video of the ceremony to be taken as to maintain memorabilia. An individual photo of each graduate will be taken at the time they are receiving their degree from the President. Copies of the photographs can be ordered by graduating students directly from the College photographer. Please note that picture taking and/or video recording by unauthorized individuals will not be allowed during the ceremony.
Live streaming
Please note that the ceremony will be livestreamed via a number of channels including but not limited to ACG / Deree YouTube channel and Facebook page. You will need to provide your consent for GDPR purposes on the Eventora registration page.
