Q&A

Q: What are three enduring values Deree has taught you?
Resilience, Teamwork and Integrity!

Q: Describe Deree in three words.
Creative, Welcoming and Diverse

Q: Which is your fondest memory from your time at Deree?
So many great memories to choose from! Probably our trip to Istanbul with the ACG Football team! Our graduation is a close second.

Q: What do you miss most from your days at Deree?
Being able to learn something new every day. I really like to read and learn new things; however, the experience of the classroom offers a unique and invaluable opportunity for learning. Interacting with professors and classmates, engaging in discussions, and participating in hands-on activities enriches the learning process in ways that self-study cannot replicate.

Q: If you could go back in time, is there anything that you would do differently?
There is so much knowledge to be acquired, even from seemingly less important classes. If I could do it all over again, I would try to get more out of my first year at Deree.

Q: Where was your favorite spot on campus?
Our football field!

Q: Who was your favorite teacher and why?
Professor Aldous was my favorite teacher and is the reason I started loving Management. Prof. Patra also had a great impact on me and my love for Entrepreneurship.

Q: After graduation, have you maintained a relationship with your school and classmates?
I am still very close with most of my classmates as well as my teammates. I had the chance to spend some more time at campus when I did my MBA at ALBA as two classes (ERP & Management Acts) take place at the ACG Campus and remembered why I loved this place! I have a close relationship with ALBA as I serve as a mentor for both the VentureGarden program as a well as the Entrepreneurship course at the ALBA MBA.

Q: Looking back, how did your time at Deree help you become the person you are today?
When I graduated I knew I had acquired some hard skills but was completely oblivious of how much I had benefited in terms of my soft skills. Most people think that I am outgoing, social, emotionally intelligent and good a presenting and public speaking. This was not the case when I started my studies. My time at Deree shaped me into the person I am today.

Q: What advice would you give a new Deree student?
Try to get the most out of your time there. Go to class, join clubs and teams, engage with your professors, ask questions, and participate actively in discussions to deepen your understanding of the subject matter. Beyond academics, make an effort to build meaningful connections with peers, staff, and alumni through networking events, social gatherings, and community activities. These relationships can offer valuable support, mentorship, and friendship throughout your university journey and beyond.

Q: Where do you get your inspiration from?
I get inspiration mainly from other people, especially those who have faced adversity in life and business. It is truly inspiring to see how so many people have succeeded despite the challenges and obstacles they have encountered. Their stories of resilience, determination, and perseverance remind me that no matter how difficult the circumstances may seem, it is possible to overcome them with hard work, courage, and a positive mindset.

Q: What is your motto in life?
“Fortune favors the bold”
