In alignment with the College’s commitment to the transformative value of education and through the generous contribution of Donors, the American College of Greece (ACG) provides each year Certificate Minor students who are simultaneously enrolled at a Greek public university (‘Parallel’) with a number of scholarships based on merit, need or both.
Scholarships decisions are based on the evaluation of all required submitted application documents and interview.
MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Certificate Minor students are eligible for a Deree Merit Scholarship, ranging from 10% to 35% tuition reduction, depending on their high school academic performance, proficiency in English, and overall student profile (i.e. letter of recommendation, personal statement, interview, extracurricular activities, work experience and other relevant factors).
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholarship Program
These scholarships are available to entering Parallel Minor students with a proved excellent academic record.
Amount of Scholarship: A total of €1400 for each qualified applicant to cover tuition.
Period Awarded: For a maximum of 3 continuous years (6 continuous semesters).
Eligibility Requirements:
- Meet College entry requirements.
- Be a registered student at a Greek public University.
- Have completed at least one semester at the Greek public University with an academic average of 7.5/10 (or 7/10 for the National Technical University of Athens).
- Have a high school diploma grade of 17/20 or above.
To continue receiving the award, the recipient must:
- Αchieve a minimum Cumulative Index (CI) of 3.10/4.00 after the completion of the first term (either semester or session) at Deree and a minimum CI of 3.20/4.00 after the completion of the second term (either semester or session). The minimum CI of 3.20/4.00 must be maintained until graduation.
- Earn passing grade(s) in EAPP courses if under the English for Academic Purposes Program.
- Register for successive Fall and Spring semesters for at least 1 course per semester and maintain this course load throughout each semester.
- Be in compliance with all College policies including the Student Conduct Code.
MERIT & NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
The purpose of these scholarships is to help reduce the financial burden for outstanding students who are financially underprivileged and/or to reward excellence and celebrate exceptional talent.
Latsis Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships
These scholarships offer deserving Deree undergraduate parallel students with established financial need, the opportunity to study abroad at Deree-ACG partner institutions in the USA and around the world or other foreign recognized institutions during the Fall and Spring semester, and summer sessions/terms.
Amount of Grant: Up to 40% of the total study abroad cost.
Period Awarded: Fall and Spring semesters or summer sessions/terms.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Meet specific program requirements as set by the host institution.
- Be a registered student at a Greek public University.
- Have completed at least one semester at the Greek public University with an Overall Average Grade (GPA) of 7.5/10 (or 7/10 for the National Technical University of Athens).
- Have achieved a Cumulative Index (CI) of at least 3.0/4.0 at the time of the application.
- Have an exemplary disciplinary record.
- Prove participation in student life (including internships, volunteer work, engagement with College clubs, societies or organizations).
- Perform well in panel interview where commitment to pursuing the declared study abroad program and reasoning for selecting a particular study abroad destination as well as maturity, responsibility and prospect of acting as a College ambassador at the study abroad destination are evaluated.
- Demonstrate financial need.
