Sustainability Face of the Month: Meet ACG Sustainability Leader Mina Bleka!
At The American College of Greece (ACG), sustainability is more than a buzzword – it’s a lifestyle, a commitment, and a shared vision for a better future. Our Sustainability Face of the Month series shines a spotlight on members of the ACG community—students, faculty, and staff —who are deeply immersed in sustainability and incorporate eco-friendly and social impact practices into their daily lives.
Each month, we give the floor to these individuals, who live out their passion for protecting the environment and contributing to the broader community, to share their story! This ongoing series is designed to inspire all of us to think more sustainably, whether through small changes or big commitments.
Meet October’s Sustainability Face: Mina Bleka
Mina Bleka, a Biomedical Sciences major and the Coordinator of ACG Sustainability Leaders, embodies sustainability in everything she does. Her deep love for nature, especially the beauty of her cherished “xwrio” (village), fuels her passion for environmental stewardship.
Since joining the Sustainability Leaders at Deree in 2021, Mina has actively participated in various initiatives, including waste reduction, food waste management, and promoting sustainable living through the Farmers’ Market program with Boroume, which focuses on reducing food waste. This involvement has not only provided her with invaluable knowledge but also empowered her to inspire others to adopt a sustainability-first mindset.
As a future biomedical scientist and conscious citizen, Mina is committed to integrating sustainable values into both her work and personal life. She firmly believes that even the smallest actions can contribute to a healthier, more sustainable planet.
Mina’s message is clear: “We can all make choices that lead to a healthier, more sustainable future for both people and the planet. Let’s work together to protect the beauty of our environment for generations to come!”
