Alexandros Ioannou (DEREE ‘11) received the gold award in Wine Culture for the Katogi Averoff Hotel and Winery located in Metsovo, Greece, in this year’s Tourism Awards.

Upon accepting the award, Alexandros Ioannou, who graduated with a BSc in Management from DEREE in 2011, and serves on the Board of Directors of Katogi & Strofilia SA, said “On behalf of all the people at the Katogi Averoff Hotel and Winery, I would very much like to thank you for this special distinction. I would also like to warmly thank the Award organizers, as with this particular prize they contribute to the establishment of wine tourism in our country. I hope that with the participation and cooperation of all of us in the future, Greece will become a popular and special wine destination.”

The Tourism Awards were organized for the second year by Hotel & Restaurant, owned by Boussias Communications, under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism, and the Greek National Tourism Organisation, and took place March 12 at the Athens Concert Hall’s Banqueting Hall.
