Mark Mazower
- well known author, professor of history at Columbia University and commentator on current affairs for the Financial Times, The Guardian and other newspapers- always draws large crowds due to the interesting topics of his lectures and his original viewpoint. His subject as this year's Kimon Friar lecturer is bound to have the same appeal: "A New Age of Extremes? Historical Reflections on the Politics of the Present Crisis". February 12, 7 pm, JSB Library Upper Level.

Media Expert lectures at ACG
William Grueskin, Dean of Columbia School of Journalism and former managing editor of the Wall Street Journal Online, will be visiting Greece to give a series of lectures for media students and professional journalists and ACG is part of his schedule. Τhe high profile media expert will be discussing: "Journalism in a new media age" on January 15.

PIERCE Alumnae Bazaar
Charity has always been an integral part of PIERCE's identity and the Annual Bazaar, a tradition dating back to the late 19th century, was one of its most prominent manifestations. Now it is being revived to support the ACG Scholarship Fund and will launch the Open House on April 13. Alumnae are urged to volunteer their time, energy and resources to make this event as important as it used to be!

Zumba for a Good Cause
Join in the latest fitness craze to support "The Smile of the Child" ("Το χαμόγελο του παιδιού") and the ACG Scholarship Fund. Τhe Zumbathon charity event will take place on Sunday, January 27, from 4 to 7 pm in DEREE's gym. Entrance fee: 10 Euro.

Anonymous Donor Establishes Endowed Scholarship for PIERCE Students
An anonymous friend of PIERCE College has established an endowed scholarship that will both provide permanent support for students and help fulfill the goal set by ACG Trustees to dramatically increase the amount of aid available to students.

A Great Opportunity

Business Leaders visit DEREE

Τhe heads of six international companies, which employ thousands of people in Greece, visited DEREE to explore developing partnerships with the International Internship and Study Abroad Program which was launched in 2011 in cooperation with the Libra Group.

New Challenges
ACG hosted this year's Interactive Marketing Conference, organized by IAB Greece.Τhe topic was "Digital Bonding: When Brands Turn into 'Bonds'" and the discussion focused on how businesses and brands adapt to the rapidly changing reality and redraw the advertising map. Marketing and media specialists addressed complex issues providing food for thought to the audience comprised mainly of marketers, advertisers, media people and students. |
Field Trip
The members of IBEA (International Business and European Affairs) Society visited the TITAN plant and learned about the cement company's presence in Greece and abroad. The students had the opportunity to meet with DEREE alumni who now work at TITAN and offered their time and expertise: Anna Mamalaki, Group Organisational Development Senior Manager, Natassa Matzaridi, Organizational Development Specialist, and Pavlos Paschopoulos, Trading & Business Development Manager.
