Exciting lectures, interesting points, images that evoke strong emotions. The one-day conference on the Asia Minor refugee experience had it all and the interest displayed by the ACG community proves once again that the population exchange is a historical event that continues to move us. The conference was held on March 27 and organized by Alexander Kitroeff, associate professor of History at Haverford College who is the current holder of the Venizelos Chair at DEREE.

For over half a century the American Women's Organization of Greece (AWOG) and ACG have worked together for the benefit of education.
The affinity of the two institutions was once again underlined when AWOG chose DEREE to host its general assembly in March. President Horner presented AWOG President Silva Gitsas-Pourliakas with an honorary certificate and Ioulia Tomara,
a junior majoring in Marketing at DEREE, was honored with the 2011-12 AWOG Award

ACG hosted the presentation "Advancing the Legacy, 137 Years as Agents of Change in Turbulent Times & Crisis" before a large audience of alumni and friends at the Eventi Hotel on Sixth Avenue. The event took place on March 9 and opened the College's Board of Trustees Meeting.
